Three Keys Continuing Education @ Charleston Community Yoga
The Three Keys to Impactful Teaching
This 3-part continuing education course for yoga teachers focuses on elevating personal skill in perception, communication, and physical contact.
****Each class can be attended separately, but the material is best utilized as a cohesive whole.
Session 1 (Expanding Visual Assessment)
Saturday, September 13th, 1-4 pm
It’s hard to really see what’s happening in each student’s alignment while you’re juggling a whole class. In this course, we have the opportunity to slow things down and practice how we see. We will explore techniques to help us see more quickly what’s missing or unsupported in our students’ postures so that we can make more personal and direct choices for the individuals and the class as a whole.
Session 2 (Speech that Affects Change)
Saturday, October 11th, 1-4 pm
Based on what we see, we will explore more effective and refined ways to verbalize cues and movement patterns. Uncovering powerful and direct language allows us to help our students uncover more body autonomy and skill in their practice. Teachers with this ability make a lasting impact on their students.
Session 3 (Making Contact That Makes Sense)
Saturday, November 8th, 1-4 pm
In this final class, we will grow our ability to support students with contact while acknowledging and including how to work with consent, personal choice, and trauma awareness. Touch is a powerful tool that should be utilized with curiosity and respect to inspire somatic development for willing students and guides.
